Marriage Certificate Apostille in Wellington.

Florida marriage certificates are issued by the Clerk of Court in the county where the marriage license was filed — not by the state. For marriages recorded in Palm Beach County, that's the Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller. Only the certified copy issued by the Clerk's office — with the embossed seal and clerk's signature — can be apostilled. Photocopies, memorial certificates from the ceremony, church-issued certificates, and uncertified copies cannot be apostilled by the Florida Department of State.

If you don't currently have a certified copy of your marriage certificate, you can request one from the Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller in person or by mail. Most clerks offer online ordering through their official county portal. Turnaround is usually 1–2 weeks by mail, same-day in person. Once you have the certified copy in hand, send it to us and we'll handle the apostille — review, filing at the Florida Department of State, and return shipping in 5–7 business days.

Wellington residents apostille marriage certificates most often for dual citizenship applications (Italian, Polish, Irish, Portuguese), foreign spouse visa applications, international adoption proceedings, real estate transactions abroad where both spouses are on title, and retirement-visa applications in countries like Portugal, Spain, and Mexico that grant residency to married couples as a unit. Payment is collected at drop-off, during the pickup appointment, or online — credit card, ACH, or cash are all accepted.

Why Wellington residents need a marriage certificate apostille.

Every week we help dozens of Palm Beach County residents authenticate their documents for use abroad. These are the most common reasons marriage certificate apostille services are requested.

Italian Dual Citizenship

Italian citizenship by descent and by marriage both require apostilled Florida marriage certificates. If you're applying for jure sanguinis as a married couple, both spouses' marriage certificates may need authentication.

Foreign Spouse Immigration

Sponsoring a foreign spouse's residency in countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy, or the UK typically requires an apostilled marriage certificate as proof of the marriage.

International Adoption

Foreign adoption agencies require an apostilled marriage certificate as part of the home-study and dossier package for Wellington couples adopting internationally.

Real Estate Closings Abroad

When both spouses are on title to property in Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, or Spain, a notary or escrow agent may require an apostilled marriage certificate to confirm the marital tenancy.

Retirement Visas

Portugal's D7 visa, Spain's non-lucrative visa, Mexico's temporary residency, and similar retirement-track programs grant residency to married couples as a unit — but only with an apostilled marriage certificate.

Religious / Cultural Documentation

Some religious institutions abroad (especially in Italy, Greece, and the Vatican) request apostilled civil marriage certificates as part of religious ceremony or annulment proceedings.

Pick the way that fits Wellington life.

Both options end the same way — your apostilled documents back in your hands in 5–7 business days, filed in person at the Florida Department of State. All that changes is how your documents reach us.

With Palm Beach International Airport and major arteries like the Wellington International Equestrian Center, the Mall at Wellington Green, Forest Hill Boulevard, State Road 7 all within reach, the city is part of one of Florida's most internationally connected regions — which is why so many residents need documents authenticated for use abroad.

We serve clients throughout Wellington's neighborhoods including Palm Beach Polo, Aero Club, Olympia, Castellina, Black Diamond, Sugar Pond Manor, and Equestrian Club, as well as nearby municipalities such as Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee Groves, Greenacres, Lake Worth, and unincorporated Palm Beach County.

For Wellington residents, the most convenient option depends on where you are: Order online, or drop off by appointment. Whichever you pick, every document gets walked in person to the Florida Department of State by our Tallahassee back-office team — same 5–7 business day turnaround.

Common questions.

Yes — provided it's a certified copy issued directly by the Clerk's office with the embossed seal and clerk's signature. Photocopies, memorial certificates from the ceremony, and uncertified copies cannot be apostilled.
The county where the marriage license was filed — not where the ceremony took place. If you don't know, the Clerk of Court statewide records system can help you locate it. We can also help if you're uncertain.
We can guide you through the ordering process but Florida requires the marriage parties (or their authorized representatives) to request the certified copy themselves. Once you have it, we take it from there.
We only apostille Florida-issued documents. For marriage certificates issued by another state, you'll need to use that state's apostille service. Many states offer expedited apostille services like ours.
5–7 business days from when we receive your certified marriage certificate. For Wellington residents, that means dropping off by appointment at our West Palm Beach office, or shipping via the FedEx QR code we email you.
Possibly — depends on the receiving country and the purpose. Italian and Polish citizenship applications often require both. We can apply bundle pricing: $300 for 2 documents, $130 each for 3+. Call if you're unsure which documents your specific application needs.

Questions, answered.

Five to seven business days from the moment we receive your documents — whether you ship them by FedEx, or hand them to us at your scheduled drop-off appointment in West Palm Beach or Tampa. By comparison: filing yourself by mail to the Florida Department of State takes five to seven weeks once you include transit and the state's processing queue.
Every Florida-issued document that qualifies under FL DOS rules: birth, marriage, and death certificates, divorce decrees, FDLE backgrounds, diplomas and transcripts, and any document notarized in Florida by a Florida notary (powers of attorney, affidavits, corporate documents, foreign-language documents).
No. We complete the Florida Department of State's Apostille Request Form on your behalf using your order details.
Included in your price. We pay it for you. The Florida Department of State only accepts checks and money orders for the filing fee, so we handle that with our own check.
Florida requires certified originals for most apostilles. Hospital "souvenir" birth certificates cannot be apostilled — you need a certified copy from the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics or your county vital records office. The "What to Ship" guide on the order form shows examples of what qualifies and what doesn't.
Some apostilles (powers of attorney, affidavits, single-status declarations, foreign-language documents) require notarization before the apostille. For Florida apostille, the notarized document must meet five requirements: (1) it must be the original document, not a photocopy; (2) it must have the Florida notary's signature, stamp, and seal; (3) it must include a full notarial certificate — either an acknowledgment or jurat; (4) the notarial certificate must be in English (the document body itself can be in any language); and (5) the notarization must be performed correctly under Florida law. We do not accept documents notarized in other states or via remote online notarization (RON).
Yes. For online orders, you receive two FedEx tracking numbers in your confirmation email — one for the outbound shipment to us, one for the return shipment back to you. For drop-off, you receive a receipt at your drop-off appointment and we notify you when your apostille is ready — pick it up at the same office, or have it shipped to your address.
FedEx insurance covers up to $100 by default. We recommend shipping documents that can be re-issued (most vital records can). For irreplaceable documents, consider FedEx Declared Value coverage when you drop off — it's a small add-on at the FedEx counter.
Unlike DIY mail-in — where DOS rejects and mails the document back, leaving you to start over with no refund — we review every document before submission and catch most issues. If something is rejected at the counter, we contact you immediately to discuss options. Some rejections we can resolve same-day by walking to county vital records in Tallahassee for re-certification.
All 125+ Hague Convention countries. Common destinations include Italy, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Israel, India, Turkey, and China. Non-Hague countries require consular legalization (a different process) — we can refer you to a partner who handles that.
Full refund if you cancel before we file with FL DOS. No refunds after filing (the state fee has been paid and the work performed). If you change your mind after shipping but before we receive your documents, we'll return them unopened and refund you.
No — we only ship back to U.S. addresses. If you need the apostilled documents delivered to an address abroad, ship them to a U.S. address first (your own, a friend or family member, or a mail-forwarding service) and forward from there. We don't handle international return shipping.
Yes — by appointment at our West Palm Beach office (500 S Australian Ave, Suite 6088B) or our Tampa office (2202 N Westshore Blvd, Ste 2275E), 9 AM – 7 PM, seven days a week. Schedule on the location page, bring your documents, and we handle everything else — same $190 per document, same 5–7 business day turnaround.
We operate from six Florida offices. Our headquarters at 113 S Monroe St, 1st Floor, Tallahassee, FL 32301 is the back office — half a mile from FL DOS — where every document is walked in to the apostille counter. Our West Palm Beach office at 500 S Australian Ave, Suite 6088B and our Tampa office at 2202 N Westshore Blvd, Ste 2275E accept document drop-offs by appointment, 9 AM – 7 PM, seven days a week. Our Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville offices are administrative locations — not open to the public — with local phone lines for online order assistance. See all six offices →
